Vision

Industry ATX loves shipping containers. Why? Because they are efficient and when Industry touches them, they are also exciting! We work with our partner in East Austin, who provides us with our containers. The containers are both manufactured and inspected in their offsite facility while Industry’s team prepares the site with utilities and foundations. The containers are then delivered and stacked like legos inside of 2 weeks. BAM! We now have exciting and fast housing ready for our supportive housing community.

Project Summary

The Jekel Project features up to 45 bedrooms of small community living. Our woven building layout creates an appealing path of circulation for the residents as well as a center courtyard that serves as a gathering space. Supportive Housing functions at its best when it is both modest in size and unique and exciting in its atmosphere; a place the tenants want to live in forever.

Community Vision

Located in northwest Austin near McNeil and 183, the site is surrounded with high transit bus lines, educational and training opportunities, a neighboring church, and everything you could need for a healthy and connected lifestyle. Our residents will receive the support, services, and attention of our Non Profit Developing partner to ensure the success of this community in the long term.

Affordability

The Jekel community will include residents living at  50% of the Median Family Income for the Austin metropolitan area. By utilizing the City of Austin’s Affordability Unlocked program, we were able to increase the number of apartments to 45 bedrooms. Our Non Profit Development partner will also provide federal vouchers, if available, lowering rents even more.
